Come early - The workshop day opens with a temple dancer stretch (20 min) and ends with a cool down stretch.

10 am - Noon  Tribal Foundations:Great for the beginner, excellent review for the more experienced ATS dancer. This workshops covers dance posture for ATS, basic slow, basic fast, formations and how to put it all together. We will have you dancing ATS improv with confidence by the end of this workshop.

1pm - 3 pm A Tribal Chorus Line:What makes a performance truly stand out? You know the moves, you bought the costume, now you have a gig, yikes! In this workshop, we give you some tips for a fabulous show that will leave your audience wanting more.Using performance drills and chorus technique,  we will also put you into real life gig "situations" so you will be ready for anything!

Sunday, November 21

11am - 1 pm Divine Tribal Duets: Duets can add an elegant element to a set,( and sometimes you only have two dancers available! ) In this workshop we show you how to "pass" both the slow and the fast, how to engage with a single partner, and postural skills for duets that are truly divine! This workshop is best suited for intermediate and advanced dancers

2 pm - 4 pm It's a Set-up!
Note: These concepts are inspired by FCBD choreographies, with the exception of the "Labyrinth" with is a Tamarind exclusive.
In this workshop you will learn the art of the "Set up", which are formations to make your performances exhilarating and make the audience take notice. What looks like a complex choreography is actually a pre-planned "set-up" formation, using improv within it's framework. You will learn "set-ups" such as the line up, reverse vortex, V formation and the Labyrinth.
This workshop can be taken by both intermediate and advanced students.

Show! Come and see all your friends, perform, and watch unda, Niada, QC Hippers and Tamarind Tribal Bellydance! If you are interested in performing, please register as soon as possible and email tribeunda@gmail.com. Dancers who register before Sept. 15 will be included on promotional materials.

Tamarind Tribal Bellydance is an American Tribal Style Bellydance troupe based in Milwaukee WI. Tribal Style bellydance is an improvisational style inspired by the dances of North Africa, Spain, India, and the Middle East, creating an exciting folkloric fusion.Tamarind is directed by Jennifer Nolan, who has been teaching and performing this style for many years, studying extensively with it's creator, Carolena Nericcio of FatChanceBellyDance.
A Tamarind show is an event in itself with swirling skirts, ornate costuming, shimmying hips, and exuberant drumbeats, creating spontaneous art through our dance.
